CanKun works with apparel, accessories, bags and footwear brands that need custom woven labels, care and wash labels and custom clothing hang tags made to an agreed specification. This custom label specification review explains the published steps before production. First, use it to prepare a quotation brief. Then approve the physical sample and confirm production details.
1. Share a clear project brief
First, provide the label or tag type, finished size, material, colours, artwork, quantity, application and destination. For hang tags, also include printing sides, hole position, finishing, string, eyelet or seal requirements where relevant.
2. Custom label specification review before sampling
Next, material, artwork, dimensions, finishing and attachment details are reviewed before a physical sample is prepared. In particular, identify the approved artwork version and any remaining details that require confirmation.
3. Approve the physical sample
Then review wording, dimensions, colour, fold or finish and attachment against the agreed brief. After approval, the physical sample becomes the reference for bulk production.
4. Confirm production details
Published MOQ starts at 100 pieces. However, the final minimum is confirmed for the specification, quantity and artwork versions. Samples are free. However, shipping and special sampling requirements are confirmed separately. Sampling normally takes around 3 days after artwork and specification review. Subsequently, bulk production usually takes 7-15 days after physical sample and specification approval, depending on the specification and quantity. Finally, allow for shipping time separately.

Discuss Your Woven Labels ↗Explore our factory & company information →Plan a small first order for a complete label set
CanKun Packaging is a manufacturing and trading business in Dongguan, China, coordinating hang tags, brand labels, care labels and size labels through one project contact.
For example, Australian or UK clothing retailers sourcing from China can start with one project brief and separate specification lines for the components you need. The published MOQ starts at 100 pieces; it is not a promise of 100 complete sets or a fixed minimum for every design, colour or size. Therefore, confirm each component and version in the quotation.
- Brand label: woven or printed construction, artwork revision, unfolded and visible dimensions, fold, seam allowance and quantity per design. Use the woven-label size and fold review.
- Care label: buyer-approved wording and languages, label substrate, layout, sewing position and quantity per version. However, keep any required testing separate from artwork approval.
- Hang tag / swing tag: stock, each face, finish, hole and attachment; say whether the count means single cards or assembled sets. Compare paper, printing and finish approval.
- Size label: separate or combined with another label, exact displayed size text, quantity per size and packing identification. Check the size-version planning guide.
Compare the whole quotation
Request itemised production prices, any setup or special sampling charges, sample freight, bulk freight, packing, quotation currency and stated tax or import-charge treatment. Also provide the destination country and postcode. Then ask which costs are included, excluded or still awaiting confirmation. Before relying on a delivered total, agree the shipping method and delivery terms. Sampling, production and transit are separate milestones.
In addition, keep one approval reference for each component, even when the order shares a contact or shipment. Mark undecided fields as “not sure” so they can be reviewed. Request a single-item or full label set quote.
Specification review and sampling for Canadian private-label retailers
Preparing clothing labels and hang tags for a Canadian private-label range? CanKun Packaging reviews the submitted brief and coordinates physical sampling in Dongguan, China. Use the same project contact for the label set, with a separate specification and approval reference for each component.
- Lock the content version. Supply the exact brand, fibre, dealer-information and care text approved by your garment team. Also identify the English and French versions required for your product, their reading order and the person responsible for content approval. However, keep unresolved wording marked for review; a display sample does not supply your garment’s composition or instructions.
- Review a dimensioned layout. Show flat and visible sizes, fold and sewing allowances, front/back orientation and artwork revision. Then check the smallest text at actual size. For hang tags, map the stock, finish, hole and attachment; for size labels, state the exact size text and quantity per version.
- Release the physical reference. Match the sample identifier to the content and specification revisions. Next, review the label in its intended garment position, record corrections and complete any separately agreed performance checks before written release. Likewise, recheck affected items when wording, material or construction changes.
Supporting information and quotation brief
A material example or photograph helps with selection. By contrast, a digital proof helps review layout. However, keep those stages distinct from approval of the production-representative physical sample. See the existing proof-to-sample approval sequence.
Before approving content, have your responsible team review the Competition Bureau’s textile labelling requirements for the actual product and sales destination. A label layout review is not confirmation of the garment’s regulatory compliance.
Copy into your brief: component / content-language revision / flat and visible dimensions / artwork revision / quantity and unit / physical sample reference / content approver / open questions.
Request a Canadian-destination label specification review. Also add Canada, the destination postal code and your required components to the project message. The starting quantities, sampling terms and production milestones above remain subject to the reviewed specification.
Real sample references
For example, use these photographed sample cases to plan the details you want to review before bulk production:
- Woven label sample: main logo and small text review
- Paper hang tag sample: layers and string assembly

Four-category production and review responsibilities
The owner has confirmed that the label production processes for hang tags, woven brand labels, care labels and size labels are completed in-house. Hang-tag work runs from layout and printing through finishing, cutting, string assembly, full inspection and packing. Similarly, woven-label work includes pattern programming, yarn selection, weaving, edge cutting, folding, setting and batch checks. Care labels use the approved printing or thermal-transfer route, cutting and agreed edge/fold treatment. Likewise, size labels follow the selected woven, printed, sticker or decorative-label specification and version allocation.
Wu Jess is the final business-fact and production-parameter reviewer. The buyer approves supplied brand assets, care/content wording, destination-market review, displayed size text and final artwork/sample versions. Therefore, keep the approval reference, quantity by version, change log and packing brief together for repeat orders.
Archived workshop photographs illustrate the recorded processes. They do not establish current machine counts, production capacity, certification scope or a fixed test result. Agree test methods and acceptance criteria for the actual order where required.
