Double-Sided Woven Labels: Define Two Faces Before Sampling

A request for double sided woven labels needs a construction decision before a price comparison. Does the buyer want two visible faces created by a folded label, or separately specified information on the front and reverse of a flat piece? Mark the intended result on a drawing instead of relying on the phrase “double sided” alone.

This guide defines a two-face approval brief. It does not claim that every requested face arrangement is feasible in every weave, size or material. Ask the manufacturer to confirm the proposed construction and any artwork changes before sampling. Keep dimensions and fold lines in the woven label specification guide.

Planning your order? Explore custom woven labels with logo, or request a two-face woven label review. Send the installed-position drawing, artwork for faces A and B and quantities for each combination. The team will review the proposed construction before confirming sample and quotation scope.

Name the faces in the installed position

Call the intended information faces A and B and mark the top edge of each. Show the label flat, folded if applicable, and attached to the intended product. Identify which face a customer sees first and how the second face is accessed. A flat artwork sheet without a viewing direction can leave the sewing team guessing.

Distinguish the requested presentation from the reverse of a woven sample. Do not treat the fact that fabric has two physical sides as approval of two independently readable designs. Ask the supplier to explain which surfaces in its proposed construction carry the buyer-approved information and show them on a sample.

Proposed presentation Drawing needs Sample decision
Folded label with two outward faces Face A/B artwork positions, fold and seam insertion Both intended faces read correctly after attachment
Flat piece with front and reverse requirements Separate face requirements and viewing directions Supplier-confirmed construction meets the two-face brief
Only one face intended to be visible Presentation face and concealed/attachment zones No unintended exposure in normal product use

Use a separate content approval for each face

List the exact artwork filename and revision for A and B. State whether either face includes a logo, secondary text, size or other variable detail. If a face should be blank or has no appearance requirement, record that decision explicitly instead of leaving an empty field that could mean “not yet supplied”.

Check reading direction with a simple marked mockup before requesting a production sample. Then compare the actual sample with the approved A/B drawing. Reversing a logo file or rotating a screen image is not evidence that the installed physical label presents both faces as intended.

Inspect the sample as one attached item

Ask the garment or accessory team to place the sample at the intended location using the agreed sewing area. Review face A, turn to face B and note any covered lettering, unexpected exposed surface or change in orientation. Inspect small text on each face separately; approval of the main logo on A does not approve the smaller text on B.

Keep these observations tied to the sample ID and construction revision. A photograph can document the observation, but an enlarged image does not supply missing dimensions or establish material composition, comfort or wash performance. The real woven label sample case provides a separate method for reviewing visible logo and text details.

Confirm how two-face versions are counted

Give each approved combination of A and B one label specification ID. If A stays the same while B changes by size or market, list each approved combination and its quantity. A total for “500 labels” does not tell the supplier which second-face versions to produce.

Identify the finished label as the counting unit and agree packing identification for each combination. Use the artwork handoff manifest to keep both face files with the same approved revision package. Review any later face or fold change before reusing the previous sample.
